![]() Preliminary Research Agenda Phase 1: 2004 - 2005 1. Undertake an international review of the state of the art and produce a report that will document: » the most advanced models of technology assisted student assessment » significant field trials and their results, including Canadian pilots » benefits, problems, issues » best practices » areas for future research 2. Re-survey all Ministries of Education in Canada to inquire specifically about current and projected applications of technology in their provincial assessment programs. 3. Publish the above findings in a comprehensive report on the TASA website 4. Convene a national/provincial dialogue around the Phase 1 report through a discovery workshop to promote cross-fertilization, discussion of next steps, and heightened collaboration to advance developments in the field. Phase 2: January 2006 - March 2008 Phase 2 will constitute applied research activities of an evaluative, technical and feasibility nature holding potential for major impact on assessment practices. A highly qualified principal investigator has been selected for each study as funded, and a variety of stakeholders and partner agencies will be involved in shaping each inquiry.
